Struck by train

WINSLOW TWP., N.J. – June 2, 2010 (WPVI) — Police say a person was struck and killed by a New Jersey Transit train in Camden County on Wednesday afternoon.

It happened around 12:00 p.m. in a wooded area just north of where Route 143 and Route 30 intersect in Winslow Township.

The Train, #4620, was heading north to Philadelphia from Atlantic City.

There were no injuries reported on the train, which was carrying 100 passengers at the time of incident.

The passengers were transferred to buses to get them to Philadelphia.

NJ Transit says service on the Atlantic City Line is not being affected, due to the fact that scheduled service during the middle of the day is sparse.

There is no word yet on the identity of the person who was hit.
