As reported by The Washington Post:

A male apparently trying to rob an apartment in the Forestville area of Prince George’s County Monday morning was shot and killed by someone inside the home, authorities said.

gunThe incident started about 9 a.m., when police were called to the 4400 block of Rena Road for a reported home invasion-robbery, said Cpl. Mike Rodriguez, a spokesman for the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Gunfire had already erupted by the time officers arrived, Rodriguez said, and “the actual suspect was shot and died.”

It remains unclear exactly who fired the shots and whether that person was a guest, the homeowner or even another intruder, Rodriguez said.

Updates will be provided as they become available.
