Medtronic Defibrillator

Heart disease is one of most life threatening conditions in the United States.  Medtronic has developed defibrillators that are designed to aid heart disease patients in extending their lives. SERIOUS Problems developed with various Medtronic defibrillators as well as Medtronic pacemakers.

What You Need To Know

On February 10, 2005, Medtronic began voluntarily notifying physicians about a potential battery shorting action that may occur in Medtronic implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) and cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (CRT-D) models.  These surgically implanted defibrillators can develop a short circuit without warning, resulting in failure to deliver a life-saving shock when needed.

On October 15, 2007, a Class I recall was issued by the F.D.A. regarding Sprint Fidelis leads on Medtronic defibrillators.  Conductor fractures may contribute to or result in inappropriate shocks or death.
